My husband is a practical jokester. He is always thinking up ways to set people up. He is very good at it and we have had many laughs at some of the things that he comes up with. It seems that no matter how his friends and I try to set him up he usually figures things out. Ever since we have been married each year he says that he wants a classic corvette for Christmas. He will leave picture of corvettes where he knows I will find them. Of course I have bought him models of corvettes as well as match box cars. But I thought one year I would like to really get him in a joke over this.

Last year when I was in Vegas with a girl friend I actually won a vehicle. We had flown to Vegas and I was not interested in the vehicle so I took the money instead. My husband did not know about the big win so I thought I might be able to actually buy a used corvette for him. I started looking for classic corvettes for sale. They are expensive but if I stayed away from the classic models I would be able to buy one of the classic corvettes for sale that were listed in the metro area not far from our home. I was having a difficult time choosing between the classic corvettes for sale that were on the lot. There were four of them that would have fit what my husband has always talked about. On the day of his birthday I had all the calendar participants come over for a party. I made a bunch of food and a huge cake. When it came time to open the gifts my husband loved the calendar. He liked the different poses that the guys had done. When he saw the gift certificate for the dealership he thought it was fake. I told him that it was true he could go and pick out one of the used claasic corvettes for sale that was featured in the calendar. The next day he went to the dealership with me. The whole time he thought it was a joke. He test drove several of the cars and finally picked one. I told him that I would follow him home. It has been several weeks, but I think he is still waiting for someone to come and take it back.

What she’s really doing is allowing girls that were previously denied to conform to them. Cycle 13 of America’s Next Top Model is telling us that “short models can be tall,” rather than “models can be short.”

The critique isn’t necessarily that Tyra is failing to break down barriers. Of course modeling has to have standards. What’s next, a cycle full of unattractive girls, and a cycle of overweight girls after that? That’s a huge exaggeration, but it’s meant to illustrate the fact that not everyone can be a model, or else it wouldn’t be modeling anymore. Maybe the modeling industry needs a bit of a makeover, but you can’t strip it apart until nothing’s left. The real problem is the apparent hypocrisy. Every autumn, millions of young adults journey back to college campuses all around the country. Teams play most, if not all, opposing teams in the conference each year. This familiarity has bred the most intense and passionate rivalries in college football, if not all of sports.

Many conference champions advance on to high yield bowl games, the final portion of the college football schedule. Here, the best teams in each conference play against each other in front of large, neutral-site crowds and nationally televised audiences. The top ranked two teams play each other for the national championship.

Overall the college football schedule stretches across for weeks and months; teams play their first game in late August, and the national championship is not decided until the second week of January the following year. Along the way, many twist and turns, routs and upsets make college football one of the most exciting and beloved sports in the whole country.

Reverse Address Lookups

The best known contact list, prevalent almost everywhere there are people and telephones, is the telephone book, commonly known as the white pages. The book is intended as a means of finding the phone number of a person, by finding the name of the person owning the number. Entries in the phone book white pages are arranged alphabetically by person, or business name. In addition to the name and phone number listing of a person, the white pages also provides the person’s, or more properly, the telephone’s address. By locating the name of the person, then, we may lookup that person’s telephone number or address. This might be called primary
lookup, for we are going by the primary index, the name, to find other data associated with the name.

In most cases, this works very well for our needs, but sometimes, in other situations, we may know an address or a telephone number, but not know the person’s name. Since the white pages is not arranged by phone number or addresses, the only way we can discover the person’s name by address, is through what is called reverse address lookup, by reading each entry and determining if the address in the entry matches the address we have. If it does, then we are able to determine the name and phone number of the person at that address.

Reverse address lookup, using the telephone book would be a tedious and time-consuming process, because the white pages use only the name as an index. Sure, the telephone companies might have added a reverse address book which used the streets of a city as the primary index. They might have also created another reverse address book that used phone numbers as the lookup index. Helpful as this might have been, having a reverse address book for addresses and a second reverse address book for phone numbers would have been both expensive and non-essential for most people who use phone books.

There are occasions when an address or phone number is available, but not a name. In such cases a reverse address book is exactly what is needed. Marketers, for instance, may send advertising through the mail and may want to customize their advertising to include the name of the person destined to receive the ad. From a map, the marketer can get the names of the streets of a city. Using the street name as a reverse address lookup key, the marketer could determine the name of the person living at that address. A reverse address book would also be helpful to an investigator who has followed someone to an address and wants to know that persons’ name. A reverse address lookup in a reverse address book would be the ideal
solution.

Although a printed reverse address book is not available from the telephone company, a digitized phone book could be used instead. Using a computer to search thousands of entries would take a fraction of the time it would take to do a reverse address lookup with the printed white pages. Contact maintenance programs are commonplace today, and many phone companies have made their white pages available as digital files. While the primary key may still be the name, most will do a reverse address lookup if only a country, state, city, street, zip code, or phone number is submitted. If there is more than one entry matching one of these keys, the program will present a list of these for you to choose from.

So, the next time you wonder what the name of that person is who lives down the street, enter the address and you’ll be likely to find the name. Sherlock Holmes would have been delighted!

There’s no doubt that lyrics are huge part of a song, excluding instrumentals. They’re the script of the song, they’re the words that get stuck in your head, and they’re the message that the song conveys. The quality of the lyrics of songs can vary. Some lyrics are the product of musicians spending hours putting the right words together, and other lyrics sound like they popped out of a random word generator. It’s debatable how important the lyrics of songs really are. It seems like songs get popular more because of their catchy tunes than what they’re trying (or not trying) to say. Then you’ll stop yourself, and then find yourself singing it again later when it comes back into your head. But sometimes there really are honestly meaningful lyrics out there. What is it that makes them so meaningful? What does it take for the lyrics of songs to mean something to people? Maybe they’re lyrics that say the same things we all know, but say them in a new way. Good lyrics can make people easily identify with what they’re saying. They say it in a way that resonates with you. Maybe the lyrics of songs are kind of like poetry. Poetry can express emotions universally without being too explicit about them. It’s too cheap and easy to outright say, “I feel sad.” A more subtle way to express this is to talk about things that resemble this, like tears or something metaphorical like an overcast sky.

Then at other times you’re just in the mood for something light and catchy, and then it’s enough that the lyrics go along with the tune regardless of what their words mean, or whether they even make sense. The first thing to remember is that adult halloween party ideas are supposed to be for adults – a good adult halloween party will have folks who’ve left the kids with sitters for the evening (and yes, they’ll be paying babysitters a premium, but that’s part of the price of having kids, isn’t it?)

Just think about it: You and your wife, or your husband, or girlfriend or boyfriend, have been invited to an “adult halloween party” and have decided to come as something wholly inappropriate for youngsters. It could be something like sexy nurse or sexy disney princess, or it could be something like a bloody corpse, or something entirely different that I’m not creative enough to think of right off the top of my head here, but regardless, something inappropriate for young viewers. Something not PG-13, but something rated R.

So you get your costumes ready, you head over to the party, you knock on the door, and who are you greeted by? A six year old in a clown suit. When it comes to adult halloween party ideas, making your friends feel awkward by having your child around to gawk (or be terrified, depending) is down near the bottom of the list.

There’s also the fact that the  party ideas contain a lot of booze. Whether it be a refrigerator full of beer or champagne, a liquor cabinet full of scotch, or a bowl full or rum punch,  are sure to be lubricated by plenty of alcohol. Which means that little ones need to not be present, since socializing kids to that much consumption of alcohol and the subsequent inebriation it causes is probably not the best bet as a parent.

Which brings us to the need to make sure there are plenty of designated drives and keymasters, people who can take keys from the guests as they arrive to make sure that nobody gets behind the wheel with a headfull of hooch. When it comes to adult , driving drunk is absolutely the worst one.

So remember to keep your party “adult.” Be explicit on the invitations that it is intended for adults only, and for your friends to avoid bringing their children. Doing otherwise could subject both you and them to an all-together uncomfortable experience.
